Courtney Starks
Head Instructor
Courtney started gymnastics at the age of 3 through 13 and was a competitive gymnast for the Pikes. After her gymnastics career she became a cheerleader at Canyon High School and was an All-American Cheerleader her senior year. Courtney has taught team, pre-team, recreational, & cheer for the last 13 years. After high school she received an AS in Math/Science at COC& BS in Kinesiology at CSUN. She is Safety Certified, CPR/First Aid, & KAT certified. Courtney has been a preschool teacher, volunteered for handicapped children, worked at a chiropractic office, taught at the Air Force Academy Sports Camp, taught at Fun & Fit Gymnastics Center, & at Gleason's Gymnastic School in Minnesota. Courtney is also a USAG Certified Meet Director.
Jodie Hegge
Instructor
Jodie has been an instructor for 20 years and has taught many levels of recreational gymnastics. This has been part of her whole family's growth. Her four children grew up in the gymnastics environment. They have used their talents in activities through school. Jodie is KAT, Safety certified, CPR, and First aid certified. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse, raising Chihuahuas, anything to do with the outdoors, hiking, camping, etc. Her newest joy is spending time with her granddaughter and supporting her teenagers in their school sports.
Kelly Kozlowski
Instructor
Kelly started gymnastics at the age of 2 through 13 and was a Level 8 competitive gymnast for the Pikes team. She currently attends Saugus High School and is an enthusiastic J.V. cheerleader. After high school Kelly plans on attending UCLA to become a pediatrician. She has taught pre-school, recreational, and cheer tumbling classes at Gymnastics Unlimited for the last 2 years. In her spare time she enjoys cheerleading, gymnastics, dancing and music.
Jeff Vamvas
Team Coach, Boot Camp Coach, Boys & Girls Instructor
Jeff has been coaching gymnastics since 1978.  He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University earning a degree in elementary education.  He owned and was the head coach of Clarksville Gymnastics in Tennessee for 20 years.  He has coached numberous State Champions in levels 4 through 9.  He has attended many coaching and judging clinics held by the USAG and the NAWGJ. 
 
 
Chelsea White
Instructor
Chelsea started taking gymnastics at age 5 and began competing Level 5 at age 7.  She competed all the way to Level 10 and trained for the Elite Level at Le Club Gymnastics.  At age 10 she traveled to China to train with the Chinese Olympians.  She is a graduate of Hart High School and was on the National Championship Cheer Squad for two years.  We are very proud to celebrate Chelsea's accomplishments for earning a full scholarship to University of Oregon this Fall on their Team Stunts and Gymnastics Team. 
Shelby Eichman
Instructor
Shelby has been part of the GU family since 2005 and was a former gymnast since the age of 18 months thru age 10.  She has been dancing competitively for over 10 years.  She currently attends Academy of the Canyons and College of the Canyons.  Shelby plans on attending a UC school after graduation and majoring in Biology.  Many of you may know her from her time as a GU Summer Camp Counselor, Open Gym Coach or Birthday Party Coach. Shelby also now coaches girl's gymnastics and will be attending her first USAG Regional Congress Summer 2009.  Shelby is also a volunteer coach for our Special Olympics Rythmnic & Artistic Gymanstics Team.
Katie Nailling
Instructor
Katie is a Senior at Valencia High School and a Varsity Cheerleader.  She has been a student at Gymnastics Unlimited since the age of 3. She coaches our 45 minute Coed classes, girls and boys.
Ola Gilkey
Team Coach/Pre Team Coach
Ola was a competitive gymnast and has been teaching for the last 13 years. For the past 2 years she has been a part of the Gymnastics Unlimited staff. She is currently working with the Advanced pre team and the Compulsory Competitive Pikes team. She is a USAG Professional Member, Safety Certified, & CPR/First aid certified. Some of her other accomplishments have been attending El Camino College, Recreational Director, Meet Director, and a volunteer for the World Gymnastics Championships in 2003. Ola's hobbies include dance, drawing, and writing.
Samantha Maggio
Instructor
Samantha started gymnastics at Gymnastic Unlimited at age 4. She began coaching at GU at age 16.  She helped coach teenage tumbling classes to aspiring cheerleaders.  She cheered for Saugus High School (2001-2005).  In her Freshman year she was transferred to Varsity for their competitive squad. She also coached various stunt clinics for high school teams in the Los Angeles area along side her cheer coach.  In her Senior year she became the Captain of her competition team and helped her team take 1st at Nationals in Hawaii.  She was also invited to audition for the U.S. Spirit Leaders professional cheerleading staff.  During her two years there, she also attended Brooks College for Interior Design and also competed on the Empire Cheers Co-ed squad in Orange County.  She has been certified in first aid and CPR since 2004 and has many versatile trainings and experiences such as elite college and partner stunting, recreational gymnastics, high level tumblingand recently received a California state and William S. Hart School District award for coaching an undefeated season at Hart High School for the 07-08 squad. Samantha works part time as an Interior Designer and plans to continue her education so she can work in her filed and teach design in the future. 
Vanessa Atler
Head Team Coach
Vanessa started gymnastics at the age of 5 at Gymnastics Unlimited and became a National Team member in 1994-2001. She was home schooled and graduated high school in 2000. Vanessa's accomplishments include being the 1996 Junior national Champion, 1997 Senior National Co-Champion, 1998 Goodwill Games Double Gold Medalist, 1999 World Championships Team, & 2000 Senior Pacific Alliance Team. Her favorite events include the Balance Beam & Uneven Bars. She now resides at Gymnastics Unlimited as the Head Team Coach for the Pikes. In her spare time Vanessa enjoys to read and watch old movies.
Nathan Kapusta
Instructor/Team Coach
Nathan comes to us from Gymnastics World in New Jersey where he was a Class II competitive gymnast and coach. He is currently working with our Level 5-9 Pikes Competitive Team and our Pre Team. 
Tricia Curran
Instructor
Tricia has been a coach at Gymnastics Unlimited for the past 6 years. She loves the sport and was a former gymnast. She is a substitute teacher with the Newhall School District and hopes to gain a full time position soon.  Tricia is also a volunteer coach for our Special Olympics Rythmnic and Artistic Gymastics Team.
Kelsey Griffith
Office Staff, "The Princess", Instructor
Kelsey has worked at GU for over 5 years as a coach and as an office staff.  You will usually see her smiling face greeting you at the front desk.  Kelsey is also a former Pike and is currently training to get her Cosmetology license. Sometimes you will be lucky enough to play with her adorable puppy, Bella.
Louise Plouffe
Office Staff-"The Queen"
Louise has been in the Office at GU for over 3 years and is the happy face who greets our students and parents every day. She is also a former Pikes Mom.
Tami Fox
Instructor
Tami was a former Pike in the good ole days and Coach Courtney, one of her former teammates saw her taking her daughter to gym and asked her to become a coach.  She was a fast learner and has become an excellent addition to our coaching staff.  She is very enthusiastic and always looking for new ways to enhance her student's workouts.
Anne Davidson
Gym Maintenance/Sanitation Specialist
Anne and her husband Carl have faithfully been cleaning both GU facilities for many years. She gained her position when her daughter became part of the competitive team and has been keeping GU sparkly clean ever since. GU boasts one of the cleanest facilities in Los Angeles County.
 
Talisa Hayes

Deanna Duvall
Instructor
Deanna comes to GU from Florida with over 20 years of coaching experience.  Deanna also taught at the famous Woodward Gymnastics Center in Florida for 4 years.  She just couldn't get away from the gym.  Working her day job as a personal assistant to a creator of a popular prime time TV series; Deanna spends her Saturdays as a coach and also coaches our special Autistic class.  Deanna has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication and Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida.
 
Sasha Spivak
Instructor
Sasha joins the GU staff from a gymnastics and dance background. Sasha was a gold-medalist rhythmic gymnast, competing in ball, rope, hoop, ribbon, clubs, and floor. She then went on to dance, and has been dancing for 7 years. Her foundation is in the Royal Academy of Dance ballet curriculum, and now she is dancing jazz and hip-hop for Rage Entertainment Complex and her school, Valencia High School. Sasha established and now coaches TTD Valencia Spirit Team, a dance team for students with special needs, and is a Special Olympics gymnastics coach at GU. Sasha has translated for GU staff meetings with her knowledge of English and Russian, and from there began as a coach for Beginning and Level 1 gymnastics. Sasha brings an excitement and energy to her classes, and is so happy to be a part of the Gymnastcs Unlimited family!
